You don't know what about them is it you love, nor why you love them, but you meet them, talk to them, then realise that you've known them somewhere before eternity, and then they fit like a missing piece of your life you've never noticed and from then on they occupy a soft spot in your heart, never to be displaced. He (or she!) may not reciprocate, but you love him (or her!) still. That sort of love is rare and the most precious. It is not romantic nor will it ever be, nor should it; for it is a pure kind of love, flawless and crystal-clear, borne of the melding of souls (or at least one to the other), and worth far more than the empty fancy that is romantic love. And after that, time and tide may pass away and you may re-meet to find each a changed man (or woman).
